Kyle is an American rapper, singer and member of the SuperDuper Crew. Formerly known as KiD, he rose to fame with Lil Yachty’s hit “iSpy”. His records include Beautiful Loser (2013) and Smyle (2015). Kyle Thomas Harvey was born on May 18, 1993 in Los Angeles. He grew up in Ventura, California, and attended Ventura High School. He ran track and field in high school.

Kyle started writing poems/lyrics at a very young age. He grew up listening to artists such as Jadakiss, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Jae Hood. He was also inspired by the likes of Wiz Khalifa and Kid Cudi. Most of his early projects are under the title of KiD Kyle’s debut mixtape “Beautiful Loser”, released in August 2013 by Indie-Pop Music and Super Duper. It spawned tracks such as “Keep it Real”, “Raining Love” and “BANG” featuring Mr. Man. His second mixtape, Smyle, was released in October 2015. It peaked at No. 76 on the Billboard 200 and No. 7 on the Top Rap Albums Chart. The mixtape features guest artists such as rappers Chance, Yuna and Jesse Rutherford.

In 2015, Kyle collaborated on the single “Just a Picture” with Kehlani and “King Wavy” with G-Eazy. He was named one of the top ten artists you need to know by Rolling Stone magazine. Kyle is currently signed to Atlantic Records. His most popular song to date, “iSpy”, was released in December 2016 with Lil Yachty. The song was produced by Ayo and Lege Kale. “iSpy” is certified 2x Platinum in the US and has sold over 2 million copies. It peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The official music video was released in April 2017. The first two months saw more than 75 million views. Kyle’s most recent songs include “Want Me Bad” and “Nothing 2 Lose”. He was inducted into the 2017 XXL freshman class in June 2017. Other freshmen include Kamiyah, Ugly God, PnB Rock and MadeinTYO.
