In 1996, he signed with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer. Jones is a midfielder who has returned from overseas to help the new MLS succeed. He also represented the United States in international competitions from 1992 to 2004. He represented the United States in 164 appearances, holding the record for the most appearances in the United States. He played in three FIFA World Cups in 1994, 1998 and 2002. He also participated in the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics and the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Following his retirement, Jones served as interim manager of the Galaxy in 2008 and assistant manager from 2008 to 2010. He now serves as a Galaxy Analyst for Time Warner Cable Sports Network. Kobe was inducted into the National Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
