Kevin James is an American actor/comedian, film producer and screenwriter. He played “Doug Heffernan” in the CBS series “King of Queens” (1998-2007) and “Kevin Gable” in “Kevin Can Wait” (2016-18). His film works include Paul Blatter: Shopping Center Police (2009), Zookeeper (2011), Boom is Coming (2012) and Pixel (2015). James was born on April 26, 1965 in Minola, New York, his real name is Kevin George Knipfing (Kevin George Knipfing). His parents are Janet and Joe Nipfen. He has a younger brother Gary Valentine and a younger sister Leslie. James grew up on Long Island, New York, where he attended Ward Melville High School. He majored in sports management at Cortland State University, but almost dropped out of school. James is an outstanding member of his high school wrestling team. He wrestled with future WWE star Mick Foley. During college, he played football as a central defender until the injury ended his career.

James worked as a fitness coach before the comedy. In 1989, he gave his first famous stand-up comedy performance at the East Side Comedy Club on Long Island. During his tenure, he met Richie Minervini and Ray Romano and became good friends. It won him a nomination for a prime time Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. James co-authored and starred in “Kevin Gable” in CBS’ “Kevin Can Wait” (2016-18). James made his debut on the big screen in the romantic comedy “Song Wind” (2005) starring Will Smith and Eva Mendes. He played “Larry Valentine” with Adam Sandler in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” (2007).
