Ken Whisenhunt was born in Augusta, Georgia in February 1962. Played at Georgia Tech as tight end Whisenhunt and was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 12th round of the 1985 NFL Draft, he played from 1985 to 1988.
He then played for the Washington Redskins from 1989 to 1990 and the New York Jets from 1991 to 1992. His first coaching job was at Vanderbilt University as a special team, tight end and H-back from 1995 to 1996. Whitson Hunt became the tight end coach of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens from 1997 to 1998 and the Cleveland Browns’ tight end coach in 1999. In 2000, he served as special teams coach for the New York Jets and tight end coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2001 to 2003, and Pittsburgh’s offensive coordinator from 2004 to 2006. Whitson Hunter got his first head coaching job with the Arizona Cardinals from 2007 to 2012. In 2013, he worked as offensive coordinator with the San Diego Chargers before taking another head coaching job with the Tennessee Titans in 2014. He won the Super Bowl with the Steelers in 2006 and the NFC Championship in 2008 as the head coach of the Cardinals.
