origin
Kato Kailin is an American actor and reality TV star. In the mid-1990s, he became the focus of attention as a witness during the OJ Simpson murder trial. His film works include Paulie Shaw is Dead (2003) and BC Butcher (2016). He co-hosted the joint court program “An Eye for an Eye” (2004-05). In 2019, he was selected as the guest of CBS Celebrity Brother Season 2.
Brian Gerard Kaelin was born on March 9, 1959 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is one of six children and was raised in a Catholic family by his parents Al and Iz. During his tenure, he also showed great potential as a baseball player. He was studying for an undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin (Eau Claire), but dropped out because of insufficient degrees.
Profession
During his participation in Eau Claire, Kaelin created and hosted his own talk show “Kato and Friends”. He also gained some experience hosting “game shows” on school television. In 1979, the hopeful Kailin moved to Hollywood to pursue an acting career. At first he was struggling and engaged in odd jobs, such as waiters and production assistants. On June 12, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were murdered at Simpson’s Rockingham Estate. OJ Simpson was arrested and tried on two counts of murder. The high-profile criminal trial lasted from January 1995 to October 1995. Kailin, known as a key witness, provided testimony about the whereabouts of OJ Simpson before and after the murder. However, his testimony was dismissed and the chief prosecutor declared him a hostile witness.
After the murder trial, Kailin used his growing popularity to turn it into a successful acting career. In 1995, he made guest appearances on Fox’s MADtv and HBO’s Mr. Show with Bob and David. He played small roles in the film Still Life (2006) with Jason Barry and Charles Shaughnessy’s “National Satirical Dormitory 2” (2006). Kaelin appeared in reality series Celebrity Boot Camp, Sunset Tan, Reality Bites Back and Gimme My Reality Show. He guest starred in the February 2009 web series Starving, titled “Starving…Literally”.
Kaelin appeared in the game show The Weakest Link and Russian Roulette. From 2004 to 2005, he co-hosted multiple episodes of the fictional court show “An Eye for an Eye”. His work also includes Tosh.0 at Comedy Central, Baskets at FX, and the TV movie The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time (2018). He premiered his TV talk show “Following Kato” in 2011.
