Karen McDougal is an American model, actress and former Playboy Playmate of the Year. Her film credits include Arena and Charlie’s Angels. McDougall was born on March 23, 1971 in Merrillville, Indiana. She has four siblings, Bob, Dave, Jeff and Tina. McDougall grew up in Michigan, where she attended River Valley High School. She studied elementary education at Ferris State University. McDougall played softball, volleyball, and was a member of her high school cheerleading team. She also took dance lessons and played the clarinet.

McDougall taught kindergarten in Detroit before becoming a model. In 1997, she entered and won a local swimsuit competition in Michigan. McDougall was invited to the international finals in Florida. There, she landed several promising contracts and met Playboy photographer David Massey. McDougall accepted an invitation from Playboy and was named Miss December 1997. In May 1998, Hugh Hefner named her Playmate of the Year. As a PMOY, McDougal is tasked with representing Playboy at various shows, parties and charities. In November 2001, she was selected as the #2 playmate of the post-90s generation.

McDougall also found success as a fitness model. She became the first woman to appear on the cover of Men’s Fitness magazine. Other magazines include Iron Man, Muscle & Fitness, Sport Revue and Physical. McDougall played an Amazon slave in Roger Corman’s 2001 film “Arena.” She was with David Spade in Joe Dirt (2001), with Cameron Diaz in Charlie’s Angels (2003) and Kate Hudson in Raising Helen (2004).
