early life: K. Michelle was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1982, formerly known as Kimberly Michelle Pate. She graduated from Overton High School in 2000 and attended Florida A&M University, where she was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority and became part of the homecoming court during her freshman year.
