Joyner Lucas is an American rapper, songwriter and music producer. His records include mixtapes 508-507-2209 (2017) and singles “I’m Not Racist”, “Ross Capicchioni” and “I’m sorry”. He is currently signed with Atlantic Records. Lucas was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on August 17, 1988, his original name was Gary Maurice Lucas Jr. (Gary Maurice Lucas Jr.). He graduated from South High School Community School.

Lucas was attracted to hip-hop music when he was young. He made his debut in the music scene under the stage name “G-Storm”. The artists he has listened to since childhood include Eminem, Biggie and Nas. Lucas and his uncle Cyrus Tha Great formed the “Film Skool Rejekts” group. Lucas signed to Atlantic Records in 2016, which was his first major record company. His Atlantic debut album 508-507-2209 was released in June 2017. It is ranked 7th on the Hot Albums Chart. The tape produced four singles “I’m Sorry”, “Ultrasonic”, “Like You” and “Winter Blues”. It invited guest artists Stefflon Don and Mystikal. Lucas dropped his controversial single “I am not a racist” in November 2017. The official video was released on November 28, 2017, and has been viewed more than 36 million times on YouTube. Lucas has worked with artists such as Tech N9ne, Logic, Kyle Bent, Busta Rhymes and Young RJ. In December 2017, he mixed Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang”.
