Josh McDermitt is an American actor and stand-up comedian. He rose to fame as “Eugene Potter” on the “Walking Dead” TV series. His TV credits also include Retirement at 35 and Mad Men. McDermitt was born on June 4, 1978 in Phoenix, Arizona. He has five siblings. Offscreen, McDermitt is a certified balloon pilot. He is also a member of the Robert Downey Jr. improv comedy troupe.

McDermitt started his comedy career as a teenager. He was 14 when he made his debut on a local morning show hosted by Tim and Willie. He was later hired as a writer and producer for the radio station KMLE. He held this position until 2007. McDermott was a contestant on the fourth season of Last Comic Standing in 2006. He was eliminated in the semifinals. McDemeter played the role of “Larry” in the 2009 TV movie Rehab for Rejects. He played “Jon Favreau” in the short film Iron Man 2 Table Read (2010).

In 2011, McDemeter played “Brandon” on the TV Land sitcom before retiring at the age of 35. The show ran for two consecutive seasons from January 2011 to August 2012. McDermitt’s next big role was in the AMC horror series “Eugene Potter”, The Walking Dead. He made his debut in season four and joined the main cast starting in season five. The show also stars Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln. McDermitt had guest appearances in Let’s Work (2012) and Mad Men (2014). He starred in “Homer” in the 2015 drama “Life in Color.”
