Joseph W. Sano Net Worth: Joseph W. Sarno is an American film director and screenwriter who has a net worth of $5 million. Joseph W. Sarno was born in March 1921 and died in April 2010. Sano lives in New York City and is best known as a pioneer of the original 1960s pornographic sexual exploitation film genre.

He has written and directed approximately 75 films in theatrical, sexual exploitation, softcore and hardcore genres. His first adult-oriented film was 1961’s “Nude in a Coal Fire,” and his best-known films include “Suburban Sins,” “Meat and Lace,” “Moonlight Wife” and “Swap” and “How They Did It”. In 1968, his work became more explicit and ventured into the emerging softcore genre. His 1968 film Inga was one of the first X-rated films released in the United States. He started the hardcore genre in 1973 with the movie Sleepy Head. Sarno directed under a pseudonym because he was reluctant to be associated with the genre. His last work was the 2004 film Suburban Secrets. A Swedish documentary about Joseph and his wife Peggy was released in 2013. Joseph W. Sarno died on April 26, 2010 at the age of 89.
