Theodore was selected 44th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1994 NHL draft. He played for Montreal until the 2005-06 season with the Colorado Avalanche. Theodore joined the Washington Capitals and signed a two-year deal worth $9 million in 2008. He went wild in Minnesota for a year before signing a two-year, $3 million deal with the Florida Panthers in 2011. Theodore is currently an unrestricted free agent. In 1995 he won the Ford Cup, Guy Lafleur Trophy and Presidents Cup in the QMJHL. In 2002, Theodore received the Wizina Trophy, the Hart Memorial Trophy, the Roger Rose Salvation Grace Award, and was named to the NHL’s second All-Star team. He played in the NHL All-Star Game in 2004 and won the Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy in 2010. Theodore represented Canada in international competitions and won a gold medal at the 1996 World Junior Championships.
