Jonathan Ross is a British television presenter, film critic and comedian. He was born in St Pancras, London on 17 November 1960, but grew up in Leidenstone. He attended Norrington Boys’ School, followed by Layton County Boys’ High School. He completed a degree in Modern European History at the School of Slavic and Eastern European Studies at UCL.

Ross first worked as a researcher on the chat show “Loose Talk” before making his television debut in 1981’s “It Ain’t Half Hot Mum” episode. In 1987, he aired his first successful show “Jonathan Rose’s Last Fight” on Channel 4. A year later, he came out with “The Incredibly Strange Movie.” From 1991 to 2008 he presented the annual British Comedy Awards on ITV. From 1999 to 2010 he presented the BBC’s “Film… (TV show)”. Ross began presenting his flagship comedy chat show “Friday Night with Jonathan Ross” on BBC One in 2001. In 2005, he published his first comic book, The Turf, with five issues. Ross left the BBC in 2010, and on July 16, his final episode of the “Friday Night” chat show aired with special guests such as Jackie Chan and David Beckham. His new chat show “The Jonathan Ross Show” premiered on ITV1 on 3 September 2011.
