Born Jonathan Phillip Ogden on July 31, 1974 in Washington, D.C., he served twelve seasons as an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). Ogden had his first opportunity to demonstrate his outstanding athletic skills in high school football and track and field while attending St Petersburg University.
Albans School in Washington. An All-American high schooler in football and track and field, he chose UCLA over UF because the former would have him playing track and field as well. There, he enjoyed a successful college football game and was once again recognized as the best player in the nation. Selected in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft, he played his entire career with the Baltimore Ravens. In 2001, Ogden and the Ravens won the Super Bowl with a 34-7 victory over the New York Giants in Super Bowl 35. In a career spanning 12 seasons, he made 11 Pro Bowls and nine All-Star appearances. Jonathan Ogden officially announced his retirement on June 12, 2008. After retiring, Ogden had the honor of serving as honorary captain of the Ravens in Super Bowl XL7, witnessing his former teammates win their second world championship. On February 2, 2013, Ogden became the first player to spend his entire career with the Ravens and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
