He became Co-Head of the Real Estate Group in 2005 and was appointed Global Head of Real Estate in 2011. Blackstone’s real estate business manages $80 billion in investor capital. Jonathan Gray was one of Fortune’s 40 Under 40 members in 2009. He helped establish Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies in 2008 and launched Blackstone Mortgage Trust in 2013. He donated $10 million to buy a Manhattan building for the organization. Jonathan married Mindy Basser in 1995. The couple founded the Basser oResearch Center in 2012 and donated $25 million to create a center focused on cancer research.
