Jonathan Brandis is an American actor and director. His most famous works are the TV series seaQuest DSV and the movie “Never Ending Story II”. Brandeis was born on April 13, 1976 in Danbury, Connecticut. His mother Mary was a school teacher, and his father Gregory was a firefighter.
Profession
Before acting, Brandeis had success in the early stages of child modeling. During his career, he appeared in more than 80 commercials. Brandeis made his television show debut in the 1982 episode of One Life to Live. Other early TV shows include Kate and Allie, Los Angeles Law, and the Good Morning Pilot Miss Bliss. His feature film debut was “Fatal Attraction” (1987), where he played the role of party guest. Early films include Stepfather II (1989) with Terry O’Quinn and Ghost Dad (1990) with Bill Cosby.
Brandeis first played the protagonist of “Bastien Bux” in the fantasy film “Never Ending Story II: The Next Chapter” (1990). His performance was nominated for the Saturn Award. Other notable films include IT (1990) with Tim Curry, Sidekicks (1992) with Chuck Norris, and Ladybug with Rodney Dangerfield (1992). He played his last film role in the 2003 film “Puerto Vallarta Squeeze”. Brandeis won the Young Artist Award for playing “Lucas Warrenzack” in Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi series “Underwater World” (1993-96). He voiced the character “Mozenrath” in the animated series “Aladdin” (1994-95).
