John Zaccaro Net Worth: John Zaccaro is an American real estate developer and businessman with a net worth of $100 million. John Zaccaro was born in Brooklyn, New York, and earned a degree in business administration from Iona College. He was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers and joined the United States Marine Corps.
Zaccaro received his real estate license in 1951 and joined the New York Real Estate Board four years later. He worked for his father’s company, P. Zaccaro Co., and sold properties in and around New York City. Zaccaro is now the owner of the company and owns dozens of rental properties in various neighborhoods in the Big Apple, including Chinatown, Queens, Little Italy and East Manhattan. In the late 1970s he served on the city’s housing commission, and by the late 1980s the company owned more than 20 properties. In 1960, he married his wife, Geraldine Ferraro. She was Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale’s 1984 running mate. She has also served in the U.S. House of Representatives. Zaccaro has come under fire for his personal finances and tax returns as a result of his campaign. Mondale and Ferraro lost to incumbent Ronald Reagan. A year later, Zaccaro was charged and pleaded guilty to real estate transaction fraud in connection with bank financing. A year later, he was charged with bribery. Zaccaro and Ferraro had three children together before passing away at the age of 75 in 2011.
