John Wall is an American professional basketball player who has a net worth of $110 million. He is best known for his nine seasons with the NBA’s Washington Wizards, where he was drafted back in 2010. In 2020, he was traded to the Houston Rockets. Wall established himself as a talented basketball player while attending the University of Kentucky and playing for the Kentucky Wildcats. After joining the NBA, John became one of the most talented point guards in the league. He was a five-time NBA All-Star and earned All-NBA honors in 2017.
early life
Johnathan Hildred Wall Jr. was born on September 6, 1990, in Raleigh, North Carolina. When John was one, his father was convicted of armed robbery and had previously been jailed for second-degree murder. Wall’s half-brother tried to take care of the family in his father’s absence, but he too was imprisoned shortly thereafter. This made John’s mother the primary caregiver. She works multiple jobs to support not only her son but also two daughters.
Unfortunately, Wall’s lack of a proper father figure in his life caused him to behave badly. He often challenged authority figures and fought in middle school. In his teens, he was cited for breaking in. Basketball proved to be a positive outlet for John, but he was dropped from his first high school team due to attitude-related issues. This prompted him to transfer to a private Christian college, and under the careful guidance of coach Levi Beckwith, he began to improve his attitude.
By his senior year of high school, Wall had achieved a national reputation. He averaged 19.7 points and nine assists and is considered one of the best high school players in the country. He was subsequently selected for the 2009 Basketball Summit and that year’s Jordan Brand Classic, impressing onlookers.
Wall was subsequently approached by several universities, including Duke, Georgia Tech and the University of Kansas, although he ultimately chose the University of Kentucky. John continued to impress and maintain a solid scoring record during his time with the Wildcats. He played college basketball for a year before declaring himself eligible for the 2010 NBA draft. After being named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, he was named the 2011 Rookie Game MVP during the 2011 All-Star Weekend. Although the 2011-2012 season was cut short by a lockout, he continued to impress. However, he missed the start of next season due to a knee injury. In 2013, Wall signed a five-year, $80 million contract with the Wizards. In 2017, he signed a four-year, $170 million extension with the Wizards. In July 2019, John Wall signed a four-year, $170 million extension with the Washington Wizards. If he completes that contract, he could earn $260 million in salary from the NBA. At the time, the contract also made Wall one of the highest-paid players in the NBA. However, John ended up leaving the Wizards in 2020 to play for the Houston Rockets.

Brand endorsement
Over the years, Wall has greatly increased his income through a number of brand endorsement deals.
