John Mahoney is an Anglo-American actor and voice artist. He co-starred in “Martin Crane” in the sitcom Frasier (1993-2004) and as the “Lt. Rosselli” series Chicago Story (1982). His works include Say Anything (1989), Dan in Real Life (2007), Healing and Cleveland Fever. Charles John Mahoney was born on June 20, 1940 in Blackpool, England. His father Reg is a baker and his mother Margaret is a housewife. He has 7 siblings, including Vera and Bernard. Mahoney studied at St. Joseph’s College in Blackpool. He immigrated to the United States and joined the American army when he was a teenager. He became a US citizen in 1959. Mahoney received a bachelor’s degree from Quincy University in Illinois. He appeared across from Albert Finney in the HBO TV movie The Image (1990).

Mahoney played “Martin Crane” in the hit NBC sitcom “Fraser”. His performance earned him a SAG Award and 2 Emmy Awards and 2 Golden Globe nominations. The main actors of the show also include Kelsey Grammer, Jane Levi’s and David Hyde Pierce. It was broadcast for 11 seasons from September 1993 to May 2004.
