He and his family came to the United States in 1948. Farber is chairman of ICC Industries. ICC trades specialty and basic chemicals, plastics and pharmaceuticals and has offices around the world. Farber established the Chemicals Trading Division in 1952 with the predecessor of the ICC Leslie Kleyman Corporation. ICC owns 37% of Frutarom Industries, an Israeli flavor company on which Farber sits with his wife Maya and daughter Sandra. The company was ranked 148th on the Forbes list of private companies in 2012, with sales of $3 billion. Farber has been Chairman and Director of Frutarom Industries Ltd. since 1996. He has been Chairman of the Board of Electrochemical Industries Ltd. since 1982.
