John Bradbury is an English musician, instrumentalist and music producer. He is the lead drummer for the ska revival band The Specials. Bradbury was born on February 16, 1953 in Coventry, England. He studied Fine Art at Kingston upon Hull Regional College before dabbling in music. His early influences include American drummer Al Jackson, Jr. and Jamaican drummer Sly Dunbar. He joined “The Specials” in 1979 and released their hit “Free Nelson Mandela” in 1984. Other Top 10 hits included “Ghost Town,” “Too Much Too Young” and “A Message to You Rudie.” Bradbury was a member of “The Specials” from 1979 to 1984 and from 2008 to 2015. His other notable bands include JB Allstars, Special Beat and The Selecter. John Bradbury passed away on December 28, 2015 at the age of 62. The cause of his death was not disclosed.
