What is Joe Gebbia’s net worth?
Joe Gebbia is an American designer and entrepreneur with a net worth of US$10 billion. He is best known as the co-founder of Airbnb. Gebbia is the chief product officer of Airbnb, and he founded the company with Brian Chesky when they lived in San Francisco.
Joe Gebbia was born in August 1981. Gebbia graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, where he met future co-founder Brian Chesky. Chesky and Gebbia moved to San Francisco, California in 2008. They found that many hotels were overbooked because they planned to attend meetings, and they bought three air beds to rent out their places and make money. Then created the Air Bed and Breakfast website, and eventually developed into Airbnb.
As of November 2015, Airbnb had more than 60 million guests using their services, when the company was valued at more than $25 billion. As of December 2020, Airbnb is valued at 100 billion U.S. dollars. It is estimated that Gebbia owns 71 million shares of Airbnb.

Initial public offering
Airbnb made an initial public offering on December 10, 2020. On December 9, the company’s expected market value was slightly less than $50 billion. By the morning of December 10, the company’s market value had soared to 100 billion U.S. dollars. At that level, Nathan, Brian, and Joe have book values of $10 billion each. They also sold individual shares worth US$100 million on the day of the IPO. Even after that sale, Joe still owns about 70 million shares of Airbnb.
All three founders are members of The Giving Pledge, which means that they intend to donate at least half of their wealth to charity in the end.
