Jimmy Kimmel is an American television host, comedian, actor and producer. He is known for hosting The Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Man Show and Win Ben Stein Money. James Christian Kimmel was born on November 13, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York. His mother, Joan, was a housewife, and his father, Jim, was an IBM executive. He has two siblings, Jonathan and Jill. Kimmel spent his early childhood in Brooklyn before moving to Las Vegas at age 9. He attended Ed W. Clark High School, where he excelled academically. Kimmel continued his studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), followed by Arizona State University. He spent a total of 3 years at the university but never completed his degree.

Kimmel started his broadcasting career while attending UNLV. He hosts regular interviews with the university radio station KUNV. In 1989, at the age of 21, Kimmel turned professional. He has worked briefly on KZOK-FM in Seattle, WRBQ-FM in Tampa and KCMJ in Palm Springs. Kimmel spent 5 years at KROQ-FM in Los Angeles, where he was “Jimmy The Sports Guy” on the Kevin and Bean Show.
Kimmel made her television debut in 1997 as the host of Win Ben Stein’s Money. From 1997 to 2000, he co-hosted the game show on Comedy Central. The show won a Daytime Emmy for Best Game Show Host in 1999. Kimmel, Adam Carolla and Daniel Kellison created “The Man Show”. The show ran on Comedy Central from 1999 to 2004 for 112 episodes. It features beer drinking and “Girls on Trampolines.” Kimmel also co-created the shows, Crank Yankers, The Andy Milonakis Show and the reality TV film Windy City Heat.
Kimmel’s flagship talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, premiered on ABC on January 26, 2003. The show started out with low ratings, but quickly gained traction over the years. It was moved to an earlier slot in January 2013 to compete directly with NBC’s Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show. The show contains a number of clips, including “Despicable Tweets,” “Unnecessary Censorship,” and “Lies Witness the News.” Kimmel hosted the Primetime Emmy Awards again in 2012 and 2016. He made cameo appearances in films such as Hellboy II (2008) with Ron Perlman, Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) with Anna Kendrick and the upcoming The Boss Baby (2017) Baldwin with Alec.
