Jessie J is a British pop singer and songwriter. She was born Jessica Ellen Cornish on March 27, 1988 in Redbridge, London. She attended Mayfield High School in London and studied at the British Academy of Performing Arts and Technology.

Jessie J started her career as a songwriter for Sony ATV Publishing. She has written songs for artists such as Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys and Chris Brown. She signed with Universal Republic in 2008 and released her debut single “Do It Like a Dude” in November 2010. She then released her debut studio album Who Are You in early 2011. The album featured the chart single “Price Tag”, which peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart. Her second album “Alive” was released in 2013, followed by her third album “Sweet Talker” in 2014. The single “Bang Bang” from her third album features the voices of Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. She won the Critics’ Choice Award at the 2011 British Film Festival.
