What is Jeremy Lin’s net worth?
Jeremy Lin is a retired American professional basketball player with a net worth of $36 million. At the end of his career, he played for the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association. Before that, he played in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks. Among his standout accomplishments, Jeremy Lin was the first American of Chinese or Taiwanese descent to play in the NBA, and the first Asian American to win an NBA championship.
In 2012, while playing for the Knicks, Jeremy Lin got the start after teammate Baron Davis was injured. He went on to lead the Knicks to a seven-game winning streak and launched what the sports world calls “Linsanity.”

In 2012, when “Linsanity” first aired, Jeremy Lin was playing the second year of a two-year deal with the Golden State Warriors that was later acquired by the Knicks. After the 2012 season, Lin became a restricted free agent, which meant he could seek offers from other teams, but the Knicks had the right to match. At this point, NBA players with two years of experience in the league are only eligible for a $5 million offer in their third year of play, but after that all bets are off. He eventually signed a contract with the Houston Rockets, where he played from 2012 to 2014 before being traded to the Lakers and then to the Hornets, Nets and Raptors. Jeremy won an NBA championship with the Raptors in June 2019. By then, he had made $51 million in his career from endorsements alone.

Jeremy Lin signed his Nike contract as a relatively unknown member of the Golden State Warriors, so the initial sum wasn’t huge. Unfortunately for Lin, players in the NBA don’t benefit directly from their jersey sales. The league shares and distributes profits equally among teams and players. Early life and college career
Jeremy Lin was born in Torrance, California in 1988 and grew up in the Palo Alto Bay Area. His parents, Taiwanese immigrants Shirley and Gie-ming, came to the United States in the 1970s, first settling in Virginia and then attending college in Indiana. Lin has an older brother named Josh and a younger brother named Joseph. All three taught basketball at their father at the local YMCA. In addition, Lin participated in the National Junior Basketball Program that his mother helped set up. A senior at Palo Alto High School, Lin led his basketball team to a 32-1 record and a California Interscholastic Federation Division II state championship. In recognition of his success, he was named the All-State First Team and Northern California Player of the Year.
Although Lin wanted to go to nearby Stanford University, he couldn’t because the school didn’t give him a scholarship. Instead, he went to Harvard, where he was named to the Ivy League second team as a sophomore. During his junior year, Lin was the only NCAA Division I men’s basketball player to be in the top 10 in the league in points, assists and steals. As a result, he was the consensus first-team selection in the Ivy League. In his senior year, he was again unanimously selected for the same honor. Lin gained national attention against the Connecticut Huskies, in which he scored a career-high 30 points. He finished his college career as the first player in the Ivy League to score at least 1,450 points and 450 rebounds.
Warriors and Rockets
In 2010, Jeremy Lin failed to be drafted by the college and eventually signed with his hometown Golden State Warriors. However, he rarely played in his rookie season, instead receiving assignments from the NBA G League. At the end of 2011, Jeremy Lin was waived by the Warriors, and the Houston Rockets claimed Jeremy Lin. He was waived by the Rockets after playing seven minutes in Houston’s two preseason games.
New York Knicks and “Linsanity”
Jeremy Lin joined the New York Knicks in the 2011-12 season. Initially, he played very little for the team before being sent to the NBA Development League again to play for the Erie Bay Hawks. In early 2012, Jeremy Lin was promoted to the Knicks starting lineup, leading the team to seven straight victories. His incredible performance during the season not only helped the Knicks to the 2012 playoffs, but also made him an international star. The craze surrounding Lin Feiteng is called “Lin Madness”. He appeared on the covers of Time and Sports Illustrated, and was listed as one of the most influential people in the Time 100. In July 2012, Lin received the ESPY Breakthrough Athlete of the Year award.

In 2012, Jeremy Lin returned to the Houston Rockets. He finished his first season with 13.4 points and 6.1 assists per game. In the 2013-14 season, Jeremy Lin was replaced by Beverley in the starting lineup and became the main ball-handling and scoring option for the second team. In November, he set a career-high two-game scoring record with 65 points. He finished the season with averages of 12.5 points and 4.1 assists.
Lakers, Hornets and Nets
Jeremy Lin was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014. This season, he’s shooting a career-high 36.9 percent from 3-point range. However, his role on the team was largely uncertain, and he struggled under head coach Byron Scott’s offense. Then, in July 2015, Jeremy Lin signed a two-year contract with the Charlotte Hornets. He had a good season with the team, scoring a season-high 35 points against the Raptors in December. The season ended after the Hornets were defeated by the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.
In July 2016, Jeremy Lin signed a three-year contract with the Brooklyn Nets. He’s averaging a respectable 14.5 points and 5.1 assists per game despite having been plagued by injuries for most of the season. The following year, however, Lin had to miss most of the season due to a ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee.
Eagles and Raptors
Lin was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 2018; the team intends to make him a mentor to rookie point guard Trae Young. However, in early 2019, Lin was waived by the Eagles. He was soon signed to the Toronto Raptors, where he struggled initially. Although his old knee injury was still a little hampered, Jeremy Lin bounced back and led the Raptors to the NBA Finals. The team eventually won the series against the Warriors in six games, making Lin the first Asian-American to win an NBA championship.
Peking Ducks and Santa Cruz Warriors
In August 2019, Jeremy Lin signed with the CBA Beijing Ducks. He finished his first season with averages of 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists. In the offseason, Jeremy Lin returned to the NBA to play for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League.
