Jenny Finch is a retired American softball pitcher and Olympian. She won gold medals at the 2004 Olympics (Athens) and 2008 (Beijing) Olympics. She played college softball at the University of Arizona (Wildcats), where she won a national honor. She also played for the Chicago Robbers and the U.S. National Team. Jennie Lynn Finch was born on September 3, 1980 in La Mirada, California. Her parents are Doug and Beff. She has two older siblings, Landon and Shane. Vinci attended La Mirada High School, followed by the University of Arizona. She majored in communications (2002).

Vinci started playing softball at the age of 5 and pitching at the age of 8. She wrote the letters 4 times during the softball game at La Mirada High School. She is also very competitive in basketball and volleyball. She was the captain of all three sports in her senior year. Vinci’s high school win-loss record is 50-12, including 6 perfect games and 13 no hits. She was named the Female Athlete of the Year in 1998. Her No. 27 jersey was retired by La Mirada in March 2016. Vinci continued her education and sports career at the University of Arizona. She played four seasons of college softball with the Arizona Wildcats. She maintained the NCAA’s record of consecutive wins with 60 games (more than 3 seasons). Her college honors include the All-American First Team, the Top 10 All-Pacific First Team, and Honda Softball Player of the Year. Her No. 27 jersey was retired by the Wildcats in May 2003.
Vinci made his debut on the US Women’s National Team in 2001. Then he made his Olympic debut in Athens, Greece in 2004. She won the gold medal as a member of the American team. Her second Olympic visit was in Beijing, China in 2008. She took home the silver medal in the team competition. Vinci also pitched for the Chicago Robbers (2005-10) of the National Professional Quick Pitch (NPF) Softball League. Her honors in the team include the best joint pitcher of the year and all-NPF. Vinci retired from competitive softball in 2010. She now has her own softball academy “JF Softball Academy” in Flemington, New Jersey. Vinci made history in 2016, becoming the first woman to manage a professional baseball team. In May 2016, she briefly managed the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic Alliance.
In addition to sports, Finch also appeared in a few TV shows and magazines. She appeared in the 2005 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Other magazine appearances include “Glamour”, “Vanity Fair”, “Celebrity Parents”, “Modern Bride” and “Country Woman”. She co-authored the book “Throwing Like a Girl: How to Dream Big and Believe in Yourself” (2011) with Ann Killion. Finch’s TV works include Pros vs Joes, The Real Housewives of Orange County, MVP and Celebrity Apprentice. She signed as a sports commentator for ESPN in 2011. Vinci will be a celebrity contestant in the 26th season of ABC Dancing with the Stars. She partnered with South African Latin/ballroom dancer Keo Motsepe.
