Jennifer Warnes was born in Anaheim, California in March 1947. She was offered a recording contract when she was 7, but her father turned it down. Warnes sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium at the age of nine. She signed with Parrot Records in 1968.
