Jelly Biafra Net Worth

Jello Biafra Net Worth: Jello Biafra is a former American punk rocker and spoken word artist who has a net worth of $500,000. Biafra was born Eric Reed Boucher on June 17, 1958 in Boulder, Colorado, best known as the lead singer of the pop-punk band Dead Kennedys. He became active in the music industry in 1976 and co-founded Alternative Tentacles Records in 1979 with bandmate East Bay Ray.

Biafra was active in Green Party politics and ran for the presidential nomination in 2000. In 1977, Biafra was a passerby for the band The Ravers/The Nails, and soon after joined a band called The Healers. He attended the University of California, Santa Cruz. Biafra’s songwriting is political and sociological in nature, with a touch of irony and criticism. His first famous song recording with Dead Kennedys was “California Uber Alles” followed by “Holiday in Cambodia”. In 1986, Biafra was accused of distributing “material harmful to minors” for the cover art for the band’s album Frankenchrist. He argued it was a political statement and the charges were dropped later that year. During the trial, the Dead Kennedys failed due to rising costs. Biafra started his oral career after the band disbanded. His first gig was at the University of California, Los Angeles, where his writing was as good as his lyrics. Biafra has also performed with bands such as Lard, DOA and The Melvins. He recently appeared on an episode of the TV series Portlandia and released the album Raunch & Soul Allstars in New Orleans.
