Jared Kushner is an American businessman, real estate developer and newspaper publisher. He is the husband of Ivanka Trump and the son-in-law of the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump. Jared Corey Kushner was born on January 10, 1981, to a Jewish family in Livingston, New Jersey. His father, Charles Kushner, a real estate mogul, was convicted in 2005 of tax evasion. He has three siblings, Joshua, Dara and Nicole. Kushner attended Frisch School in Paramus, New Jersey. He graduated from Harvard University in 2003 with an AB degree in Sociology. Kushner continued his education at NYU. He completed his JD and MBA degrees in 2007.

Kushner entered the real estate market while studying at Harvard. He made millions buying and selling residential buildings in Somerville, Massachusetts. Kushner was named CEO of Kushner Properties in 2008. He has since acquired properties in states including New York, New Jersey and Maryland. In 2007, he purchased the 41-story office building 666 Fifth Avenue for $1.8 billion. The retail portion of the building was sold to Stanley Chera in 2008.
Outside of real estate, Kushner is the owner of The New York Observer. Back in July 2006, he bought the newspaper company for $10 million. The newspaper is published weekly and is accessible online. Observer’s popularity has grown over the years and now has over 6 million monthly users. In 2012, Kushner made a bid for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball. A month later, he withdrew his offer.
Kushner was heavily involved in Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He oversees online fundraising, policy speeches, social media and various campaign strategies. The New York Observer is one of the few newspapers to support Donald Trump in the Republican primary.
