James Franklin Net Worth: James Franklin is an American college football coach and former player who has a net worth of $12 million. James Franklin was born in Longhorn, Pennsylvania in 1972. From 1991 to 1994, he was a quarterback in East Stroudsburg. In 1995, he coached wide receiver for a season at Kutztown before becoming the defensive backs coach at his alma mater.
By 1996, Franklin was the offensive coordinator for the Roskilde Kings, though he held the position for only one year before serving as James Madison’s wide receiver coach. He later coached at Washington State, Idaho State and Maryland before being promoted to wide receiver coach for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers in 2005. In 2006, Franklin became Kansas’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Two years later, he returned to Maryland as offensive coordinator, and in 2011 Franklin got his first head coaching job at Vanderbilt. He took over at Penn State in 2013 after Bill O’Brien left the NFL’s Houston Texans as head coach. Franklin went 30-20 as head coach midway through the 2014 season. He’s 2-1 in bowl games.
