Born James “Jamie” Gerard Dinan in 1959, he made his fortune as a hedge fund manager and founder of the well-known investment management and financial planning firm York Capital Management. A Wharton graduate with an MBA from Harvard Business School, Dinan began his career in 1981 with investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLG).
Four years later, he joined Kellner, DiLeo & Company, and then, in 1987, Mark collapsed and Dinan lost $600,000 of his life savings on Black Monday.
