James Corden is a British actor, comedian, writer and TV presenter. He is best known for hosting The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS. He is also the creator of the British sitcom Gavin & Stacey. James Kimberley Corden was born on August 22, 1978 in Hillingdon, London. His father Malcolm was a musician and his mother Margaret was a social worker. He has two sisters, Andrea and Ruth. Corden grew up in Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire, where he attended Holmer Green High School. He has an acting class at Jackie Palmer Stage School.

Corden got his first stage role in the 1996 musical Martin Guerre. Subsequently, he starred in the TV series “Renford Rejects”, “Boyz Unlimited” and “Hollyoaks”. He played “Jamie Leimer” in the “Fat Friends” series (200-05) and later played “Jeremy” in the TV series “Teacher” (2001-03). Corden gained further recognition for his role as “Tims” in Alan Bennett’s critically acclaimed play “History Boys.” His early film works include “Twenty-Seven” (1997) and “What happened to Harold Smith?” (1999) and all or nothing (2002). Together with James McAvoy, he starred in the comedy film “Introduction to 10 People” (2006).
In 2006, Corden and Ruth Jones co-created the romantic sitcom Gavin & Stacey. The show was broadcast on the BBC from May 2007 to January 2010, with a total of 20 episodes. Corden’s role is Neil “Smith” Smith. He won the British Comedy Award for Best Male Comedy Newcomer and the British Film Academy Award for Best Comedy Performance. Corden began hosting the British sports show “Their Own League” in 2010. He talked about the 2011 animation show “Little Charlie Bear” on the BBC. Corden played “Francis Henshall” in Richard Bean’s play “One Man, Two Guvnor” (2011-12). His performance won him the Tony Award for Best Actor.
In 2014, Corden replaced Craig Ferguson as the new host of the CBS Evening Show. His first episode was on March 23, 2015, with celebrity guest Tom Hanks. Other guests over the years include Will Ferrell, David Beckham, Russell Crowe and Benedict Cumberbatch. Corden’s most recent films include an opportunity to work with Julie Walters (2013), “Into the Forest” (2014) with Meryl Streep, and a collaboration with Anna Kendrick Troll (2016). He will voice the protagonist “Peter Rabbit” in the upcoming animated film Peter Rabbit (2018).
