Rodriguez was born on November 27, 1971 in Manati, Puerto Rico, and made his Major League Baseball debut on June 20, 1991 as a receiver for the Texas Rangers. Also known as “Pudge”, Rodriguez played for the Texas Rangers, Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Houston Astros and returns to the Texas Rangers team and ended his MLB career with the Washington Nationals on September 27, 2011.
Rodriguez attended Padron Rivera High School in Lino and immediately signed with the Rangers after high school. He is a fourteen-time All-Star, thirteen-time Gold Glove winner, seven-time Silver Bar winner, 2003 World Series champion, 1999 AL MVP and 2003 NLCS MVP.
