Isac Slade has risen to prominence on the world music stage as lead singer, lead songwriter, pianist and co-founder of Denver piano rock band The Fray. Born on May 26, 1981, to a family of Slovak descent in Denver, Colorado, Isaac Edward Slade began singing at the age of eight and playing the piano three years later.
At the age of sixteen, he wrote his first song and learned to play the guitar in high school. In 2002, he formed The Fray with fellow student Joe King, and they soon welcomed Dave Welsh and Ben Winsock to their group. The four rose to fame in 2005 with their debut album, How to Save Lives, which was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and went platinum in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. As for national success, their first song “Over My Head (Cable Car)” became a top 10 hit in the United States. To date, Isaac Slade has released three other albums with Fray, namely The Fray (2009), Scars & Stories (2012) and Helios (2014).
