Hunter Biden is an American lawyer and former lobbyist from Wilmington, Delaware. He has worked in different departments including law, politics and finance. Hunter is an active partner of the international consulting company “Rosemont Seneca Partners”. He previously served on the board of directors of Burisma Holdings of Ukraine (2014-19) and Vice Chairman of the National Railway Passenger Transport Company (2006-09). Hunter founded/co-founded several companies, including “Oldaker, Biden & Belair”, “Rosemont Seneca”, “BHR Partners” and “Eudora Global”.
His name is Robert Hunter Biden and he was born on February 4, 1970 in Wilmington, Delaware. He is the second child of former Vice President Joe Biden and the only surviving son. Both his mother Neilia and his sister Naomi were killed in a car accident in 1972. Hunter and his brother Bo were seriously injured in the accident, but they survived. Bo eventually died of brain cancer in 2015. He is 46 years old. Hunter Biden attended Akmere College, a Catholic high school in Claremont, Delaware. He received a Bachelor of History degree from Georgetown University (1992) and a Juris Doctor degree from Yale University Law School (1996). He served briefly in the U.S. Navy Reserve (2013-14).

After graduating from law school, Hunter got a job at MBNA Bank in his hometown of Delaware. He climbed rapidly and was appointed executive vice president in 1998. His father, Joe Biden, was serving as a senator from Delaware at the time. In addition, MBNA is known for its great contribution to Joe Biden’s political campaign. Hunter served in the US Department of Commerce (Bill Clinton Administration) from 1998 to 2001. During his tenure, he focused on issues related to e-commerce policy.
In 2001, Hunter began his career as a lobbyist. The following year, he co-founded the lobbying company “Oldaker, Biden & Belair” with Robert Belair and William Oldaker. He served as a lobbyist for National Group LLP (2003-05) and later as a board member of AMTRAK (2006-09). Hunter ended his lobbying career in 2008, the same year that his father was elected as vice president (Barack Obama Administration). In 2006, Hunter and his uncle James Biden acquired the hedge fund “Paradigm Global Advisors”. The two began to dissolve the Paradigm Fund in 2010.
In 2009, Hunter co-founded the investment company “Rosemont Seneca” with Christopher Heinz (John Kerry’s stepson) and Devon Archer. He founded the venture capital company “Eudora Global” in 2010. Eudora focuses on healthcare, renewable energy, green products and online games. In 2013, Hunter, Devon Archer and Jonathan Li (Chinese businessman) launched the private equity investment fund “BHR Partners”. The fund specifically invests in companies outside of China. Joe Biden met Jonathan Li during a trip to Beijing, China in 2013.
In 2014, Hunter Biden signed a contract to become a member of the board of directors of Ukraine Brisma Holdings. Brisma is the largest natural gas producer in Ukraine. Hunter has served on the board of directors until his term expires in April 2019. During his tenure, Burisma Holdings is under investigation by Viktor Shokin. However, in May 2019, Ukrainian prosecutor Yuri Lutsenko revealed that Hunter Biden had not violated any Ukrainian laws. Joe Biden did not conduct any wrongdoing.
