Since 2013, he has directed and served as the co-executive producer of the series “True Blood”. In 1991, Deutsch won the CableACE Award for directing Tales from the Crypt. In 2003, he was nominated for the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing Achievement in Television and Film for Gleason. Howard married actress Lea Thompson in 1989.
