Hope Solo is an American football star and one of the world’s top female goalkeepers. She has two Olympic gold medals and a World Cup champion. Solow was born on July 30, 1981, to his parents Judy and Jeffrey in Richland, Washington. She has two siblings, Marcus and Teresa. Solo attended Richland High School, where she played on the school’s football team. She continued her education and football career at the University of Washington. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in voice communication in 2002.

Solo was the main scorer and two-time best scorer in the United States in high school. She became a goalkeeper with the Washington Huskies in 1999. Solo dominates the Pac-10 conference in her new position. During her senior year, she won the NSCAA National Honor and the Herman Trophy for three consecutive years.
Solo made his debut on the U.S. Women’s National Football Team in 2000. She has since participated in the Women’s United Football Association, Women’s Professional Football and W League. She also played for the Seattle Dynasty team in the National Women’s Football League. Solo made his Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The US team defeated Brazil 1-0 to win the gold medal. Solo won her second Olympic gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. She won her first FIFA Women’s World Cup in the 2015 match against Japan. In August 2016, Solo was banned from American football for six months. This decision was made two weeks after she called the Swedish football team “a group of cowards”.
Outside of football, Solo was a participant of ABC Dance with the Stars in 2011. She partnered with Ukrainian-born choreographer Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The two were eliminated in the semifinals. Solo’s autobiography “Memoirs of Hope” was published in 2012.
