Yo Yo Honey Singh is an Indian rapper, singer, music producer and actor. He was born Hirdesh Singh on March 15, 1983 in Hoshiyapur, Punjab. He attended Guru Nanak Public School in Punjab. He later studied music at Trinity School in the Belvedere, London.

Singh released his debut single “Glassi” in 2006 and won the ETC Punjab Award for “Best Sound Design” in the same year. He is currently signed to Mafia Mundeer Records. He released the album “International Villagers” in 2011. The album features the singles “Gabru”, “Brown Rang” and “Angreji Beat”, the latter of which appeared in the 2012 film Cocktail. He produced songs for films such as “Chennai Express”, “Boss” and “Fugly”. Singh made his debut in the 2012 Punjabi film Mirza – The Untold Story. His performance won him the PTC Punjabi Film Award for Best Male Debut. He went on to star in the 2013 comedy film Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22. His Bollywood film debut was the 2014 film The Xpose.
