Early life and music career
Hervey, whose real name is Harvey Ray Cantwell, was born in Kent, England in 1999 to Nicky and Leigh. He has two older brothers named Elliot and Ollie. As a youth, he went to Lee College in Dartford. He launched his music career in December 2013 with the release of his first single, “Thank You”, which peaked at number 73 on the UK Singles Chart. Hrvy has since worked as a supporting artist on British girl group Little Mix’s Salute Tour. A few years later, he signed with the record label Virgin EMI and released his debut EP, titled “Holiday”. The EP includes the singles “Phobia” and “Holiday,” the latter featuring American rapper Redfoo. In 2018, Hrvy was once again the band’s supporting artist, this time for Vamps’ day and night tour. That same year, he released the single “Hasta Luego” with Cuban-American singer Malu Trevejo. One of Hrvy’s biggest hits, the song peaked at number 13 on the Scottish Singles Chart. Hervey was subsequently nominated for Best International Newcomer at the BreakTudo Awards in Brazil. Later in 2018, he released the singles “I Wish You Were Here” and “I Didn’t Think of You”. TV business
On television, Cantwell is one of six presenters of the CBBC children’s entertainment show “Friday’s Download” under his real name. From 2014 to 2015, he starred in series 7 to 9; during his tenure at Cantwell, he was joined by other hosts including Molly Rainford, Leon Dever Rees, Charlie Lenehan, Akai Orsay, George Searle, Shannon Flynn, Dion Bromfield, Sel Spellman and Anna Gallagher.
