Hassan Minhaj is an American comedian, actor and author. He currently serves as a senior reporter for Trevor Noah’s “The Daily Show.” His television credits include Disaster Date, State of Georgia and Arrested Development. Minhaj was born on September 23, 1985 in Davis, California. His parents are Muslims from Aligarh, India. He has a sister named Aisha. Minhaj is a graduate of UC Davis. He completed a BA in Political Science.

Minhaj became interested in comedy after watching Chris Rock’s stand-up special Never Scared (2005). He also draws inspiration from acts such as W. Kamau Bell and Arj Barker. Minhaj was named “Best Comedian” by San Francisco radio station Wild 94.9 in 2008. He has since opened up for big names such as Katt Williams and Gabriel Iglesias.
Minhaj moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to perform on NBC’s Stand-up for Diversity. He ended up in the final. In 2010, he made a cameo appearance in two episodes of the series, The Legend of Neil. Minhaj made a cameo appearance as “Seth” on the ABC sitcom “Georgia” (2011). He also had a major role on MTV’s hidden camera show Disaster Date (2011). His television credits include album productions for Failosophy, Arrested Development, Getting On and Watsky. In 2014, he voiced the first-person shooter Far Cry 4.
Minhaj made her debut on the Comedy Central talk show “The Daily Show” in November 2014. His title is Senior Reporter. The show is currently hosted by comedian Trevor Noah. Minhaj’s critically acclaimed one-man film Homecoming King will premiere on Netflix in spring 2017. Other upcoming projects include Most Likely Murder and Rough Night. Minhaj grills President Donald Trump at the 2017 White House Correspondents Dinner. The dinner was held on April 29, 2017 at the Washington Hilton Hotel. Trump did not attend the dinner.
