Hannibal Buress is an American comedian, actor, podcast host, television writer and producer. His comedy/special albums include Animal Furnace (2012), Comedy Camisado (2015) and Hannibal Takes Edinburgh (2016). He has appeared on TV shows such as The Eric Andre Show, Broad City and 30 Rock. Hannibal Amir Buress was born on February 4, 1983 in Chicago, Illinois. His mother Margaret was a teacher, and his father John was a railroad worker. He has an older sister. Buress graduated from Steinmetz College Prep in 2000. He briefly attended Carbondale at Southern Illinois University.

Buress started his stand-up comedy career in the early 2000s. He was still in college at the time. He gained early exposure in the embarrassing comedy show at Comedy Central. Buress first worked as a writer on the small screen of Saturday Night Live (2009-10). Subsequently, he also guest-starred in “Louis” and “30 Rock”. His first comedy album “My Name is Hannibal” was released in July 2010. He was voted by Variety Magazine as a manga worth watching in 2010. In October 2014, he called on comedian Bill Cosby to make headlines because of pending rape accusations.

Buress guest starred in The Mindy Project in 2013. He voiced the character “Momma Lucas” in the animated series Lucas Bros. Moving Co. (2013-15) and Chozen (2014). His dubbing works also include Bob’s Burger, Adventure Time, Justice League Action, BoJack Horseman, Angry Birds Movie (2016) and The Secret Life of Pets (2016). Buress currently plays “Lincoln Rice” in the comedy central sitcom Broad City (2014-). His film works include Dad’s Home with Will Ferrell (2015), The Interceptor with Leslie Mann (2018), and the label with Ed Helms ( 2018). He played Police Officer Watkins in Neighbors (2014), starring Seth Rogen and Zach Efron. He played “Coach Wilson” in the superhero movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017).

In addition to stand-up comedy/movie, Buress is also a podcast host. He is best known for hosting the “Handsome Walker”. Over the years, his guests have included Vic Mensa, Chance The Rapper, Open Mike Eagle and The Lucas Brothers. The music magazine The Fader named “Handsome Rambler” as a new podcast that you need to subscribe to.
