Born Gustaf Archibald Siegwart Douglas in Stockholm, Sweden on March 3, 1938, he received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1964.
After graduation, Gustaf Douglas worked as a consultant at Bohlin & Stromberg from 1964 to 1968. Next, he was general manager of TV2 from 1968 to 1971. He returned as CEO of Bohlin & Stromberg from 1971 to 1972 and chairman of the shareholders’ meeting from 1971 to 1973. Chief executive of newspapers such as Dagens Nyheter and Expressen from 1973 to 1980. About four years later, Douglas founded his investment firm, AB Latour. The company, the main source of his wealth, now controls Securitas AB, the largest listed securities firm, as well as Assa Abloy, the world’s leading lock maker, and Fagerhult AB, the Swedish lighting maker.
