Ghostface Killah is an American rapper, producer and actor who has a net worth of $10 million. Ghostface Killah is best known as a member of the prolific rap group Wu-Tang Clan. He also had a successful solo career with albums such as Iron Man, The Client, and Fish Scales. Ghostface Killah is known for its fast-paced beats and complex emotional lyrics.
Early Years and Wudang School
Ghostface Killah, whose real name is Dennis Coles, was born in 1970 in Staten Island, New York City. As a youth, he attended junior high school with future Wudang family member Lei Quan. Coles later became roommate of Wu-Tang founder RZA and helped bring together the other seven members of the group: GZA, Method Man, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Raekwon, U-God, Masta Killa and Inspectah Deck. After signing with Loud Records in 1992, the group released their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), which is widely regarded as one of the best hip-hop albums of all time. Released his second album, Forever Wudang, in 1997; debuted on the Billboard 200, and it went on to receive a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album.
Wu-Tang Clan’s later albums include “The W”, “Iron Flag”, “8 Diagrams” and “A Better Tomorrow”. However, none of these can match the success and popularity of the band’s first two albums. In 2015, the Wudang faction released a single copy of “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin”, which was bought by hedge fund felon Martin Shkreli for $2 million. After Shkreli was convicted of securities fraud, the album was confiscated by the US government and sold to an unnamed buyer. After that, in 2017, Wu Tang released the album “The Saga Continues” with all the original members except U-God. It also includes guest appearances by artists such as Sean Price, Redman and Streetlife.

solo career
In 1995, Ghostface was featured extensively on the album “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…”, the solo debut album of Clan member Raekwon. He also contributed songs to the soundtracks to the films Sunset Park and Don’t Be a Threat to the South Central When Drinking Juice in the Hood. Like the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface began his solo career around this time, releasing his first solo LP, “Ironman” in 1996. Showing a unique soul influence, the album reached #2 on the Billboard 200. In 2000, Ghostface released his second solo studio album, titled “Supreme Clientele”, which peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200. Among the singles were “Cherchez La Ghost” and “Apollo Kids”, the latter featuring Raekwon. Just a year after “Supreme Clientele,” Ghostface released the R&B-influenced “Bulletproof Wallets,” which spawned the singles “Never Be the Same Again” and “Ghost Showers.”
After signing with Def Jam Records in 2003, Ghostface released his fourth solo album “The Pretty Toney Album”. It collaborated with the likes of Missy Elliott and Jadakiss on the singles “Tush” and “Run”. Ghostface has since released “Fishscale”, which peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 and number two on the R&B chart. It spawned the hit singles “Back Like That” and “Be Easy.” Ghostface’s later solo albums include “The Big Doe Rehab”, “Ghostdini: Poetry Wizard of the Emerald City”, “Apollo Kids”, “12 Reasons to Die”, “36 Seasons” and “Ghostface Killahs”.

Among his other music projects, Ghostface released the album “718” with Theodore Unit. In 2005 he released a joint project called “Put it on the Line” with Trife Da God of Theodore Unit. The following year, Ghostface collaborated with underground artist MF DOOM on the yet-to-be-released album Swift & Changeable. Later, in 2008, Ghostface appeared on eight tracks on Raekwon’s album “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Pt. II”. Shortly thereafter, he collaborated with Raekwon and Method Man on the 2010 album “Wu-Massacre”.
Ghostface’s other credits include his collaboration album “Wu Block” with D-Block member Sheek Louch, and “Sour Soul” by Canadian jazz band BADBADNOTGOOD. In 2019, he released the album “Czarface Meets Ghostface” with the hip-hop super group Czarface.
Film and television performance
On the screen, Grimace made many cameos. He first appeared in the 1998 crime drama “Belly” starring rappers DMX and Nas. He next appeared in “Black and White,” starring Robert Downey Jr., along with several other members of the Wudang sect. Grimace later appeared as himself in the films “Dawson the Hunter,” “Go Black,” “Hard Walk: The Dewey Cox Story” and “Iron Man.”
On the TV side, Grimace has appeared as himself on the sitcom “30 Rock” and the sketch comedy series “Human Giants.” He also voiced the animated sitcom “The Boondocks” and appeared on the VH1 reality shows “Mob Wives” and “Couples Therapy.” In the latter, he appeared with his girlfriend Kelsey Nicole. In 2018, Grimace appeared in the Netflix Marvel series Luke Cage.
