Higuain left France for Argentina when he was only 10 months old. He holds French nationality because his father is Argentine, naturalized French at the time of El Pipita’s birth. Higuain doesn’t speak French, but holds a French passport and an Argentine passport, since he became a legal citizen of Argentina in 2007. He started his career on May 29, 2005 against Gimnasia y Esgrimala Plata against River Plate, Argentina. In December 2006, Higuain was acquired by Real Madrid for 12 million euros. His La Liga (Spanish football league) debut came on January 11, 2007, although his first goal came on February 24 against Atlético de Madrid, which ended in Vicente Carr Delong Stadium tied.
