Goldlink is an American hip-hop artist. His first studio album “At What Cost” in 2017 earned him billboard status and a Grammy nomination. Given the name of DeAnthony Carlos, he was born in Washington, DC on May 17, 1993, and he grew up listening to what he considered “pure hip-hop” music. This includes Max B, Cam’ron, Master P, Hot Boys, Silk the Shocker and many others. When he was young, Goldlink’s family moved frequently and finally settled in Virginia. His mother was a secretary of a legal agency, and his father was a park and recreation worker. His lyricism is often compared to people like R Kelly and Beach Boys.

After graduating from high school, Goldlink began to make music as a hobby. Like many upcoming artists, he uploads his music online, hoping to build a reputation. At first, he released music on Bandcamp and SoundCloud platforms under his real name. In 2013, the stage name Goldlink took root. He has worked with producers such as Kaytranada and Galimatias & Joppe. In 2014, Goldlink’s mixing tape “The God Complex” was well received. Popular magazine companies such as Spin, Clash, and Complex show his talents by listing him as the best newcomer. The success of his mixtape eventually led him to establish contact with producer Rick Robin in 2015. In the same year, Goldlink released a follow-up mixtape “After that, we didn’t speak”. In March 2017, Goldlink released its first studio album; “At what price.” This album invited many artists including Shy Glizzy, Wale, Jazmine Sullivan, Mya, Steve Lacy and Kaytranada. The album is ranked 128th on the Billboard 200 list in the United States. The hit single “Crew” will be ranked 45th on the Billboard Top 100 Singles chart in the United States. It will also be nominated for Best Rap/Song Performance at the 60th Grammy Awards. In recent months, the Goldlink single “Crew” starring Brent Fiyaz and Shy Glizzy has been viewed more than 50 million times on YouTube.
