Early life and career
Giorgio A. Tsoukalos was born in Lucerne, Switzerland in 1978. He is of Greek-Austrian descent. As a young man, he attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he graduated in 1998 with a BA in Communication. Over the years, he has worked as a bodybuilding promoter and volunteer at bodybuilding competitions, including Mr. Olympia. From 2001 to 2005, Tsoukalos produced and directed the annual San Francisco Pro Grand Prix, a competition administered by the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.
“Ancient Aliens”
Tsoukalos is best known for his appearance on the TV series “Ancient Aliens” which premiered on the History Channel in 2009. In addition to serving as a consultant producer on several episodes, Tsoukalos also appears as a permanent guest on each episode.
“Ancient Aliens” launched as a two-hour documentary special before becoming a main series via A&E Networks. Narrated by Robert Clotworthy, the show explores a variety of pseudoscientific topics such as human-alien contact, psychic phenomena, government conspiracies, and the hypothesis that ancient astronauts visited Earth. The collection is inspired by the work of authors such as Zecharia Sitchin, Erich von Däniken and Graham Hancock. Hancock, George Noory and Robert Bauval are some of the show’s regulars. On television, Tsoukalos appeared on many cable channels, including Travel Channel, History Channel, National Geographic Channel, and Science Fiction Channel. He also appeared on “Coast to Coast AM,” a late-night radio talk show that focused on paranormal themes and conspiracy theories.
In 2014, Su Carlos served as the host of the short-lived H2 series Finding Aliens. Like “Ancient Aliens,” the show has been widely ridiculed for its pseudo-academic and dangerous propaganda baseless theories. Later, in 2021, Tsoukalos appeared as himself in the Syfy drama mystery series “Alien” based on the comic book of the same name.
