Gigi Hadid is an American fashion model currently under contract with IMG Models. She was named Model of the Year by Daily Front Row in 2015. Hadid was born Jelena Noura Hadid on April 23, 1995 in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Yolanda, is a former model and her father, Mohamed, is a real estate developer. She has four siblings, Anwar, Bella, Marielle and Alana. Hadid attended Malibu High School, followed by New School in New York City. She played college volleyball at Malibu High School.

Hadid’s modeling career began when she was a toddler. In 1997, she was hired by fashion designer Paul Marciano. Hadid modeled briefly for Baby Guess before taking a break to focus on her education. She returned to fashion in 2011 and was named the new face of Guess in 2012.

Hadid moved to New York City in 2013 and signed with IMG Models. In February 2014, she walked for Desigul at New York Fashion Week. Hadid paired up with Patrick Schwarzenegger in Tom Ford’s Fall/Winter 2014 glasses ad. She signed on as a Maybelline brand ambassador in January 2015. Hadid has since walked the runway for Marc Jacobs, Versace, Chanel, Michael Kors, Jean Paul Gaultier and several other big names. She has also appeared on the covers of Vogue, W, Teen Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar.

Hadid made her debut in the 2012 short film “The Virgin’s Eye.” That same year, she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Hadid made guest appearances on the reality TV shows MasterChef (2016) and Lip Sync Battle (2016). She hosted the 2016 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards at Much HQ in Toronto, Canada. Hadid starred in both the music video “Bad Blood” with Taylor Swift in 2015 and “How Deep is Your Love” by Calvin Harris. She played Zayn Malik’s girlfriend in the video for the single “Pillowtalk”.
