Garrett Clayton is an American film and television actor. His performance credits include Teen Beach Movies, King Cobra, Hairspray Live! and Foster. Clayton was born Gary Michael Clayton on March 19, 1991 in Dearborn, Michigan. He grew up in Dearborn Heights and attended Crestwood High School. Clayton continued his education at the University of Auckland. He majored in musical theatre.

Clayton was originally a member of the Crestwood High School Drama Club. One of his earliest stage roles was as “Uncle Homer” in Charlotte’s Web production. Clayton made his debut in the horror film The Tower (2008). He subsequently had small roles in Magic Mentah (2009), Virginia (2010) and Love, Gloria (2011). His early TV shows include Days of Our Lives, Get Moving, and the TV movie Holiday Spin (2012).
In 2013, Clayton played “Tanner” in the Disney Channel original “Teen Beach Movie.” The film is directed by Jeffrey Hornady. Tanner’s character resurfaced in Teen Beach 2 (2015). Clayton has a recurring role as “Chase” on the ABC series The Fosters (2014-16). He played “Link Larkin” on the NBC special Hairspray Live! (2016). Clayton played “Brent Corrigan” in the crime drama biopic “King Cobra” (2016). The film also stars James Franco, Christian Slater and Alicia Silverstone.
