Who is Jo Miyeon?
Cho Mi-yeon was born in South Korea on January 31, 1997. He is a singer known by the name of Miyeon. She is a member and lead singer of the K-pop girl group (G) I-DLE managed by Cube Entertainment. She is also a member of the virtual K-pop group K/DA, playing the role of “League of Legends” Ari.

Early life and career start
Cho Mi-yeon grew up in Korea and is the only child in the family. When she was very young, she liked to sing and was often inspired by her father who loved music to perform. Her parents recognized her talent and sent her to a music school to learn various musical instruments. Over time, she learned how to play piano, guitar and violin.
When she was in middle school, with the encouragement of her classmates and family, she went to YG Entertainment Company to audition and succeeded; the company is known for managing artists such as iKon, Big Bang, Jinusean, Dara and Blackpink. In the next five years, she received training in the company and applied to a music school to help develop her vocal ability; her research also taught her production and composition. She didn’t go anywhere in YG. After five years, she decided to leave the company to work as a freelance singer, which led her to work with Seulong and touring in Canada later this year.

In 2017, Miyeon signed a contract with entertainment company Cube Entertainment and officially became a trainee of the company. The company is known for managing artists such as BtoB, CLC, and A Train to Autumn. After a year of training, she made her debut with the girl group (G) I-DLE-the name means a group of people gathered together-with five other members including Shuhwa, Yuki, Soyeon, Minnie and Soo Jin .
Most of the members of the group have already emerged in the popular reality survival competition in the country. Others are interns from other companies, who, like Miyeon, did not achieve any success in their previous efforts.
They soon released their first extended play (EP) called “I Am”, which included the title song “Latata”, and was successful, ranking fifth on the Billboard World Albums Chart. They won their first music show title in “The Show” and later held several small concerts in the United States.
At the end of the year, they released the single “Hann (Alone)”, which was very popular internationally, and for the first time reached the second place on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart. They continue to win awards throughout the year, including at most award ceremonies in South Korea.
K/DA and the most recent (G)I-DLE project
In 2018, Mi Yeon and So Yeon were invited to participate in the “League of Legends” collaborative music project called “K/DA”, and collaborated with American singers Jara Burns and Madison Bill.
The duo accepted and made their debut during the 2018 League of Legends World Championships, performing their first single “Pop/Stars” live-this song also came with a music video on YouTube , Went viral on the Internet.
