G-Eazy is an American rapper, songwriter and music producer. His studio albums include These Things Happen (2014) and When Dark (2015). G-Eazy was born Gerald Earl Gillum on May 24, 1989 in Oakland, California. His parents, Suzanne Olmsted and Edward Gillum, separated when he was a child. He has a younger brother named James. G-Eazy spent his childhood in Berkeley, California, before moving to North Oakland. He attended Berkeley High School, followed by Loyola University in New Orleans. He graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree.

G-Eazy started exploring music when he was in college. His early projects include The Tipping Point (2008), Sikkis on the Planet (2009), The Epidemic LP (2009) and Big (2010). He also performed as a member of the hip-hop group “Bay Boys”. G-Eazy released two mixtapes in 2011, “The Outsider” and “The Endless Summer.” The latter was led by Greg Banks’ single “Runaround Sue”. It also gave him the opportunity to tour with rappers Drake and Lil Wayne.

G-Eazy’s second album, Must Be Nice, was released independently in September 2012. It peaked at number 33 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. His debut studio album These Things Happen was released by RCA Records in June 2014. It reached #3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. It spawned the single “I Mean It” featuring Remo and “Lotta That” featuring A$AP Ferg.

G-Eazy’s second album, When It’s Dark Out, was released in December 2015. It was certified platinum and sold over 300,000 records. “Me, Myself & I”, the lead single with Bebe Rexha, peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Artists on the album include Big Sean, Keyshia Cole, Chris Brown and Tory Lanez. G-Eazy appeared on Britney Spears’ 2016 single “Make Me.” He teamed up with DJ Carnage on the 2017 EP, Step Brothers. He also collaborated with singer Kehlani on the single “Good Life” from The Fate of the Furious: The Album (2017).
