Prior to May 25, 2004, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of PHAWK, LLC, founded in June 2003. Wilson served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of 3TEC Energy Corporation from August 1999 until June 2003. He founded W/E Energy Company LLC, formerly 3TEC Energy Company LLC, in 1998 and served as President until August 1999. Floyd Wilson began his career in the energy business in 1970 in Houston, Texas, as a completion engineer. In 1976, he moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he founded an oil and gas operating company, one of several privately held energy businesses prior to the formation of Hugoton Energy in 1987, and served as chairman, president and chief executive officer. In 1994, Hugoton completed its initial public offering, and in 1998 it was incorporated into Chesapeake Energy.
